The museum

Born from the collecting passion of Giovanni Viceconte and Margherita Arena the Museum of Photography – Pino Settanni in addition to storing the important permanent collection dedicated to Settanni, it stands as a platform and privileged place of dialogue and deepening on the role of photography understood as historical heritage and contemporary language.

In the suggestive spaces of the granary warehouses of Palace Viceconte (a prestigious architectural complex located in the heart of the Sassi – Unesco Heritage, whose restored environments have made available a surface of 400 square meters suitable for a museum space), photography, as art and practice, is fathomed not only as the genre of art but as picture category at the centre of the sensitivity of our time.
